Animation and Brand Identity Design

Jon Norris, a dedicated landscape photographer, approached me to unify his photographic portfolio, social media presence, and print materials under a cohesive brand. The objective for the logo design and branding was to establish a polished and cohesive visual identity suitable for both print and digital platforms.

Concept

I aimed to create a logo showcasing a stylized landscape – a design that is both straightforward for scaling down and striking enough to establish quick brand recognition. Drawing inspiration from National Park badges, I crafted the logo as an emblem. This approach serves as a framing element, ensuring the logo remains distinct even when superimposed on photography.

Craft & Details

I expanded on the initial request by providing multiple logo variations. This included the original badge-shaped design with stippling detail, an animated logo tailored for video content, a circular logo, and a distinctive wordmark.

The textured logo adds depth to the geometric vector design, particularly beneficial for applications that involve scaling up the logo size. On the other hand, the untextured version maintains a sharp and clean appearance when scaled down.
