Horsehill Vineyards
Horsehill Vineyards required a rebranding of their labels for the release of the 2017 Red Zinfandel. This collaborative wine project between Cal Poly Pomona and South Coast Winery has produced multiple gold medal winning Zinfandel. It was important to the client that the labels represent the campus grounds that these vines from historic lineage have grown from.
Concept
The concept for my rebranding of Horsehill Vineyards is to represent the campus grounds through combining the hands on craft of growing and harvesting the grapes with the innovation that Cal Poly Pomona is known for.
The symbol of a horse is not only the namesake of the Vineyards but also reminds us of Kelloggs legacy, from which Cal Poly Pomona grew. The hand-painted, fluid design of the horse on the textured water colour paper gives this design a artisanal look. The precise cutout of the horse design brings in the element of clean engineering. To replace the standard back sticker of a wine bottle, I have designed a wrap around sticker in the same textured watercolour paper. The torn top edge of this paper reflects the mountainous scene beyond the campus while still providing a blank surface for additional information to be printed.
Animation
I created this animation as producing dynamic digital assets for the Horsehill Vineyards brand will provide them with the opportunity to build an online presence. I combined the texture of the vectorised hand-painted marks with the fluidity of wine being poured into a glass.
